Urban Infill Project
I decided to scrap my entire layout after a great discussion with my group and my instructor. My idea weren't bad, they just weren't an appropriate response to the site. I intent to have 4 floors supported in 4 places One of those 4 places will be the elevator shaft.

2nd "Unofficial" Pin-Up
Today we presented our progress so far with an emphasis on structural systems/details.
This drawing was done using a combination of SketchUp, AutoCAD, Illustrator, and hand drawing techniques. As happy as I am, and believe me I love it, this drawing looks it took over 3 hours to do and so I will likely do my project in Revit to allow myself to have all the necessary views. (Thank you Teddy for showing me a much needed AutoCAD command allowing me to keep a large majority of this drawing in vector form)

My Entrance
My entrance had been bothering me and although it was recommended for me to work on floor plans, I couldn't help myself. I had to define my entrance way in a better way before I could allow myself to work on the floor plans. I will end up redesigning my stairs elevator soon as well.

1st Design/Idea Entrance (Jan 23rd, 2012)
I have begun to design the entrance way for my first idea more thoroughly by incorporating structural elements as well as a stair system and an elevator.
I still need to consider the proper place for a receptionist's desk/space and the appropriate ceiling height for this space. With changes in elevation, such as stairways or elevators it is easy to forget that the ceiling height will need to adjust accordingly.
